Henry Blooms Slippery Elm Bark is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to:
Soothe irritated tissues
Relieve constipation
Promote bowel evacuation
Soothe gastro-intestinal tract mucous membranes
Enhance bowel regularity
Relieve diarrhoea
Relieve symptoms of heartburn
Adults: Mix 2.5 g powder into a smooth paste with a little cold water and consume the paste with a glass of water. Alternatively, add hot water to the paste to make a 1 cup beverage and add cinnamon powder and honey to taste. Take 1-3 times daily, or as directed by your health professional.
Children under 18 years old: Only as professionally prescribed.
Cautions & Interactions: Drink plenty of water. Prolonged use may cause serious bowel problems. If symptoms persist, consult your healthcare practitioner. Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present or if you develop diarrhoea. Seek medical advice immediately if diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3-6 years or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your health professional before use.
