TGA Interim Decision on Vitamin B6 - Invitation to Share your Perspective
We wish to bring to your attention an important development from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regarding the proposed reclassification of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, pyridoxamine) under the Poisons Standard.
The TGA has released an interim decision that may affect the scheduling of oral preparations containing vitamin B6. This proposal includes potential changes to how products containing more than 50 mg of vitamin B6 per recommended daily dose are accessed by consumers. The decision follows a review of reported adverse events and aims to balance public safety with accessibility.
